A BIT ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m “G-man” – ( aka Gregor McPhie) and rocking your party is my thing !
I am 43 years old and have worked professionally in the UK and worldwide wedding and corporate entertainment industry for the last 27 years, starting as a professional entertainer the age of 16. There are very few Scottish venues that I have not performed in. I cater to and have DJ'd EVERY style of music, whether it be 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000's, Pop, Rock, Metal, Country, Reggae, Hip-Hop, all variations of Dance music and GBX anthems, I'm always happy to create a bespoke event of YOUR taste. I Can also host/ MC and Ceilidh dance call at your event if required.
As a DJ I've travelled the globe to entertain and as a club DJ I have spun the turntables in many Scottish clubs including headline sets at Glasgow’s legendary "Arches" Super Club. This is where I honed the craft of DJing, whether it be cueing up the classics or beatmatching electronic music, adding my madcap microphone antics along the way. I love to get involved, getting the party started and keeping it going, giving your crowd exactly what they want from first dance to final anthem. With the aid of modern technology I've over 90 million tracks to choose from, played on a cutting edge sound system that will rock your event, start to finish. A self confessed ‘music geek’, I literally eat, sleep and drink music. When not DJing, I am a professional music producer and musician and have entertained live audiences of up to 60,000 people, performing in arenas ( including Wembley ) and performed live on TV to 45 million viewers ( winning many awards along the way ), so I have complete confidence in MCing and hosting, making sure your party will be talked about for years to come.
Musically, I've had a blessed life full of various adventures including; Wedding DJ, Radio DJ, Club DJ, professional guitarist, bassist and singer, music producer, recording engineer, ceilidh dance caller and live sound engineer. All these elements have led me to my job as DJ and all my experiences over the years create the ‘perfect storm’ of experience to make sure your party will be the one to beat. I also perform as part of Scottish folk sensation Beluga Lagoon where I am the producer/ musical director/ guitarist and backing vocalist. Amongst many other acts and music industry roles throughout my career, I was also the original guitarist with the Red Hot Chilli PIPERS and after that toured the world with my own band Bags of Rock. I have been involved with legendary Scottish dance act The Rhythmic State
for years and when I'm not DJing I produce all kinds of music, from techno to heavy rock and everything in-between, for customers at my studio The HQ Glasgow as well as being a signed dance music producer under the name Hotknife

my game ! I have no issue sticking with the locked and loaded floor fillers, but I am just as happy to take your lead on 'themed' nights if that is what your looking for.
As an accomplished sound engineer I can guarantee the best sounding ( and loudest – if you like that sort of thing :)

Gregor was amazing! After working with him as a producer before, he was our first choice for our wedding! He totally understood our ideal wedding playlist and effectively steered away from the classic cheesy wedding songs as requested! Pre-wedding, he set up in plenty of time, and even helped to calm my nerves. He was so incredibly organised and helpful throughout the night, working well with all our other vendors including saxophonist. Gregor was highly commended by all our guests, with many of them asking how they could get in touch for their own events. Gregor hosted a couple of ceilidh songs which we loved! He switched up the Gay Gordon’s with a more interesting song and our guest absolutely loved it! Could not recommend him enough and will 100% book for any future events 🙌🏼 thanks again!

We hired Dj G-man for our wedding earlier this month and he absolutely made our night. G-man barely stopped for a minute, he played incredible tunes all night matching the tone perfectly. He also called a couple of excellent ceilidh dances professionally and patiently. He has an infectious enthusiasm for his job, is so easy to work with and had every single one of our guests up on the dance floor till 1am. I cannot thank you enough G-man. Gregor battled from Glasgow to Oban through snow, ice, wind, sleet, road closures & landslides to get to us. What should have been a 2.5 hr journey took him all day but he was determined not to let us down & he really didn't!
Despite the day from hell, DJ G-man totally rocked the place into the early hours & made our Christmas do one to remember!

WHAT I GUARANTEE....
* Madcap microphone antics – I don’t take myself seriously (I’ve got pink hair :) but I do take making the night you'll remember for ever VERY seriously
* I'm always punctual, presentable and polite – I have built a reputation from always being professional, no matter what the circumstances and reliability is the name of my game
* Compliance with all relevant safety standards and DJ licenses - the kind of things you needn't worry about - but your venue might ! All my equipment is regularly safety tested (PAT test) and i literally keep a spare EVERYTHING in my van to make sure your night goes perfectly smooth. I Also have £10,000,000 public liability insurance as an OCD safety measure ( I'm thorough like that :)
FAQ's
How does it work on the evening?
Venue and meal timings depending, I normally take an hour and a half to load-in and set-up my venue-rocking soundsystem with the aim of starting at 7/8pm ( I need at least an hour to set up efficiently – but this all depends on room ‘turnaround’ time after your meal ) and access to venue. I will then typically DJ non stop until 12am – the time of most venues' sound level curfew.
What music do you play?
In short – all the floorfillers. As a lifelong music fan I genuinely love all styles but what is important is what the dancefloor wants at that exact time, whether it’s the latest chart hits, disco classics, dance anthems, classic rock, funk, soul, ballads, hip-hop, house or anything in-between, from the 50’s to the present day. My years of experience as both a wedding and club DJ, allows me to ‘read the dancefloor’, making sure it’s always busy with the appropriate tracks played. I’ll always tailor the evening to YOUR requirements as the paying customer ! Do you want a particular ‘themed’ night ? No problem. I always have an AUX cable to hand incase of bizarre requests from guests (okayed by yourself first of course ) that they only have on their phone ! For everything else and by the virtue of technology, I can stream over 90 million songs. I generally ask that you send me a list of songs you would personally like to hear (ideally about 20 or so) no later than 2 weeks before your wedding and I’ll make sure they’re locked and loaded, ready to hit the dancefloor. As a general rule I always aim to beatmatch all tracks, providing a continuous beat in the style of a club DJ as this encourages people to stay on the dance floor when they're ‘in the groove’ !

*Fancy a full Scottish themed wedding ? No problem at all, I can cover the whole days entertainment, from a piper and drummer greeting your church guests and piping you down the aisle, sound system and wireless mic for speeches and background music throughout the day. A performance from the internationally acclaimed 'The Bag Rockers' see (HERE), Ceilidh Dance calling and of course a DJ set for most of the evening. I look forward to hearing from you !
